David Livingstone
Principal, Ad Lucem

David Livingstone has over 30 years of experience in representing Australia and Australian companies overseas, helping Australian companies grow through insightful strategy and building trusted partnerships and fostering start-ups.

David is a lawyer and former diplomat with senior postings in Asia, Africa and Europe. He was the lead negotiator for Australia in intellectual property law in the World Trade Organization in Geneva, and in in Australia’s free trade agreement negotiations, including with China.

David was also the Chief of Staff to the Parliamentary Secretary for Trade, an Adjunct Professor with the Australian Defence Force Academy (UNSW), and Federation University, and Head of Global Engagement for the Business Council of Australia.

David was also the Chief of Staff to the former Federal Parliamentary Secretary for Trade (and later, Education); Head, Global Engagement for the Business Council of Australia and Director, International and Civic for the City of Melbourne.
